I've been working with Dan at First Due PT for 7 months now and to say my expectations have been far exceeded would be a massive understatement! I have been training with Dan Long enough to know when I want to quit, I still have 2-3 more reps to go, so about 1 ½ years.
The original dream was to do a single pull-up without any support but also to gain strength and drop some of those snack-powered insulation layers while avoiding cardio at all costs.
"Technically, I still can’t do a pull-up. unassisted but if feeling fantastic counts as progress, I’m basically an elite athlete now. Mentally I am in check (99% of the time) and physically, I can lift my groceries in one trip, and with that grip strength I should be living until I’m 97!. In the last year I’ve found a new level of balance —less chaos, less alcohol, and a fridge that’s 80% protein-packed snacks. Pull-up or not, I feel so much better and I understand more about the protein intake i should be hitting each day in order to reach those goals

He shows up, brings the energy, at 6am and somehow knows exactly when to push you and when to pretend you didn’t just almost cry doing lunges. I’ve been training with Dan at First Due PT for the past 10 weeks, twice a week—and the results have been incredible. After suffering a partial tear in my elbow tendon in August 2024, I spent months in physio with little to no improvement. I had to miss an entire season with two of my sports teams, and I was feeling frustrated and stuck.

Beyond the ordinary
I have been training with Dan for several months now and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I’ve lifted weights and participated in various forms of exercise and sports throughout my life, but I was looking for a way to break out of a workout rut and keep things engaging and interesting.
Dan created a personalised program to help me progress toward my goals, improve my lifting technique, and rethink how I approach my workouts. After just a couple of months training with him, I had already achieved the goals I initially expected would take a full year. That meant it was time to set new ones!
One of the biggest factors in this success was Dan teaching me how to “train my metabolism” through dietary adjustments—not just exercise. Learning to monitor my food intake and actually measure what I was eating in order to better manage my caloric and macronutrient needs was a total game changer. Before this, I had been estimating and thought I was close to hitting my targets. But after just a few days of measuring, I was shocked to discover that my estimates were off by nearly 50%.
